The CMS Made Simple™ Dev Team are pleased to announce that we have won the Packt Award for "Best Open Source CMS" for 2010. We would like to express our gratitude to the thousands of user-community members who took the time to vote for their favorite open source content management solution.
Our community showed their continued support for our mission of building a content management system that helps web professionals to create sites that are simple for the average end user to manage. Over the years CMS Made Simple has grown from a simple utility to a full content management system that is easy to extend to provide almost any functionaly a website requires. The growth in available addon modules over the past year by members of our community is a testament to that.
The past year has seen three (3) functionality releases, and a few bug-fix releases while we strive to meet the growing needs of our user-community without ever losing sight of our mission. There have been a few hiccups along the way but the community continues to stick with us and help us to further improve the package. We are very proud of their involvement.
The coming period will see CMSMS™ further develop its underlying architecture to allow even greater flexibility in addon modules while maintaining the principle that the core package should be as simple as possible for the end-user. Along with this we foresee adding more features to assist in the rapid development of professional, standards-compliant, flexible, and feature rich web sites for the average business, multi-national corporation, not for profit group, team or club.
Though awards like the Packt Award are not the primary reason we continue to develop CMSMS, the recognition will give us renewed energy and a skip in our step in the weeks ahead. Again, the CMS Made Simple Dev Team thanks each and every member of our valued user-community.

I voted for you. Love your CMS, when I need a fast flexible site that is easy to use I opt for CMSMS. When requirements necessitate, I use Drupal. Good luck going forward.
