Announcing CMSMS 2.0 Beta 2
Many of the improvements for beta2 involve fixes to issues which may have prevented you from installing beta1. If you weren't able to test beta1, please give beta2 a try and let us know how it goes. We have fixed a great deal of the critical issues with the core code, and released an un-packaged versionof the installation assistant for those few cases where your system is not compatible with phar packages.

Thank you so much everyone for your hard work in beta testing 2.0. The Dev Team has reciprocated by addressing many of the bug fixes and requests, and releasing this, beta2.
In most cases, we suggest using the packaged (pharred) version of the installation assistant, and will continue to encourage this as the default install method upon release. In some specific environments the packaged version will not work - see http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/installation/cmsms-2-x/installation-assistant - so we are also releasing the un-packaged version concurrently. If you decide to use the un-packaged Installation Assistant, note that it must be uploaded to a directory other than the target installation directory (i.e: a child of the target installation directory).
Many of the improvements for beta2 involve fixes to issues which may have prevented you from installing beta1. If you weren't able to test beta1, please give beta2 a try and let us know how it goes. Specific changes can be found in the changelog, but include the "NLS not found" issue, and an installer attempt to disable all opcode caches, among many others.
Other improvements in beta2 include fixes to locking, permissions, Admin buffering, and previews. JQuery has been upgraded to 1.11.1, and the tinymce library in MicroTiny has also been upgraded.
A note to module developers: now is a good time to begin updating/fixing your modules. Translators should also try their hardest to catch up on translations before the official release.
We look forward to hearing your feedback, and hope that you're as excited about CMS Made Simple 2.0 as we are!
Feedback can be given in the Beta Board on our forum.
